Hatfield & McCoy

  • Big John McCoy has been teamed up with Eddie Hatfield on the “Hatfield & McCoy” morning show for 30 years now. He’s a born & raised Iowan, graduating from Adel-DeSoto High school (Go Tigers) and Iowa State University (HUGE Cyclone fan). Big John started working in radio during his junior year in high school, and continued after college when he realized his childhood dream of being a kicker for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings was NOT going to happen.  He lives in Adel, just two blocks from the house where he grew up. He loves to cook (especially BBQ), hang out with friends & family, and travel with his wife, Jo. They have a grown son named Chris, a wonderful corgi dog named Dewey, and 2 cats…Dolores & Frankie.

Eddie Hatfield started at KJJY in 1986 and recently celebrated his 30th year with the station. He and his wife Gail have been married for 20 years, they live in Urbandale and enjoy their three children, two grandchildren, two cats and a Standard Poodle named Bo. Eddie grew up all over the country but claims Chicago as where he grew up. Attending Drake University was what brought him to Des Moines and he hasn’t left since. Eddie enjoys volunteering at On With Life in Ankeny, home improvement projects, reading, playing video games and just hangin’ with Gail.
